Illinois Vietnam Veterans Memorial

History is not limited to the 19th century in Springfield. This powerful granite monument and eternal flame pay tribute to the 2,972 Illinois residents who served in the Vietnam War and died or are still missing. The walls are often surrounded by memorabilia left by friends and family of those remembered.
