Edward's Place
Edwards Place
Springfield, Illinois

Built in 1833, this beautifully preserved mansion was the center of Springfield's social and political life for many years. It was once the site of a political rally for Stephen A. Douglas. In 1913, Edwards Place was deeded to the Springfield Art Association and now provides visitors with an interesting blend of historical tours and a gallery filled with contemporary art.
